What is the criterion for excusing ignorance in matters of worship? And does everyone who is ignorant of something in the matters of worship — especially in matters of ijtihād — have the consequences of neglecting that matter lifted from him on account of his ignorance?

This is a message from the questioner ʿAbd Allāh Sulaymān al-Bāziʿī from Arbaʿiyyah al-Qaṣīm. He says: Some imams in the audible prayers — Maghrib, ʿIshāʾ, and Fajr — hasten, after reciting al-Fātiḥah, straight into the next sūrah, leaving the follower no opportunity to recite al-Fātiḥah himself. What do you advise such imams? And what is the ruling on the follower if he does not recite al-Fātiḥah in the first two rakʿahs?

One of the brothers says: I read in the magazine al-Mujtamaʿ an appeal from Muslim women imprisoned in one of the Islamic countries, asking Muslims to blow up the prisons and detention centres where they are held — since their honour has been violated, and they are now pregnant from fornication because they were forced into it inside the prisons. What is the ruling on killing oneself in such a situation, and what of those women who have been afflicted by this?
